E-BEAM MONITOR

The E-Beam monitor can be used in MBE applications to measure flux ratios and growth rates near or at the sample position.

A Bayard-Alpert type Ionisation Gauge is mounted on a linear motion feedthrough.

This enables the E-Beam flux monitor to be shifted linearly between a standby-position and the point where the measurement will be taken.

Typical applications for the E-Beam flux monitor are:

• Flux calibration of effusion cells vs. source temperature.
• A fast check of flux ratios from different sources.
